I use Blender 2.5. Is it possible to display in the 3D window a mesh with its textured faces with their texture visible (i.e not the underlying color)? A kind of simplified rendered view, as it were. Practically any 3D modeller can do it, even the simplest. In fact, Blender seems to be the only one that can’t do it.
Try the GLSL view mode. Change to textured view, press N for the properties panel and select GLSL in the Display settings.
Note that you need a compatible graphics card.
Thanks, but this isn’t the solution to my problem. I want to see textured faces in the 3D window as an aid to modeling. Having a shadeless model is no help. Thanks, anyway.
