Recently back to using Blender again after a break I decided to get things going again by trying out the Castle tutorial by Neal Hirsig on Blender 3D Design. Yesterday I completed it, with textures all added etc. I rendered it out and saved a copy of the image . Today I went back and loaded up the file again only to find that the Wall Texture used on the faces is no longer there. All the settings I used in the Material and Texture Editors are there and it even has the wall texture still listed as the one used. But when I render it now the textures do not show up.
I did rearange the files on the laptop and moved the Blender files to my Documents and the two images I rendered to a new Blender Image file in Pictures. Could this be the problem? The wall texture is in the same place though. Can`t understand why all the texture details are still entered in the Castle file but not rendering. Will re-assigning the textures to all the relevent faces be the answer?
File -> external data -> find missing files and point it to the folder the images are.
All new and edited images have to be saved on the disk separate from the .blend. If you didn’t, those didn’t get saved.
Ok thanks , never realised that. I originally just had one project file for the castle and saved the .blend files and the final rendered png`s in the same place. Hopefully should no longer be a problem now I have created separate files for each.
Just did that and it worked a treat. Castle now textured again. Thanks again.
