So I’ve been trying to wrap my head around Blender recently, and have undertaken a project with myself. A couple months back I made a sort of… spaceship, in Google Sketchup. I exported it as a .dae and then imported it into the project and shrinked it down (it was massive at the time, so I just shrunk it so it’d fit.) After a bit of looking around, I found a free texture that I liked.

After finding it, I went back into my project. I had set my project to use Cycles Render, and so I selected the material I wanted to change the texture of (material_0) and then added a Surface node of Diffuse BSDF, with a color of an image texture (the previous image.) Except, this was the result (all renders were 100 pass to save time):

Clearly you can see that the texture is, in fact, not being put onto the ship itself. It is just a solid colour. If I choose an image such as this [http://i.imgur.com/Go5Sa7Rh.jpg] it is just a solid blue [http://i.imgur.com/G4SESX1h.png] (Here [http://i.imgur.com/eTppVZXh.jpg] is the snipped settings.)
I’ve tried many things, and the only things that seem to remotely work are changing the “Vector:” setting from “Default” to “Texture Coordinate | Object” or “Texture Coordinate | Camera.” Both have exactly the same (from what I can tell) effects.

As you can see, it does something that I can’t describe. When I move my perspective, it changes the textures with it, as if using the Camera as origin points for the image or something.
I can set it to “Texture Coordinate | Generated” as well, and it produces this effect. It appears very stretched and warped in some places, as if trying to fit the image on whatever side. I’m still looking for repeated textures instead (mostly ont he wings, they appear to be the most out of place.) This still appears to be the closest possible so far.

I still cannot get it to be the desired texture that you see in the preview on the right here:

Any help?
Oh, and, I figured links would be the best way to make it look uncluttered… but, looking back, probably not the best idea. Let me know if anyone wants me to change to actual see-able photos.
