Texturing a flat polygon created from curves

Hello all,

I’m having some trouble properly texturing (with an image) a flat polygon I created by surrounding a background image with curves. In the past I’ve textured mostly by UV unwrapping and using the UV/image editor tool, but for some reason (probably because it is still technically a curve rather than a mesh according to Blender) the UV representation of the polygon doesn’t show up on the UV/image editor page for positioning over the texture image. What I’m going for is a flat polygon in the rough shape of the original background image, textured with that same image so that I’ll basically end up with a 2D ‘model’ with all the properties and advantages of 3D, such as physics integration etc.

attached is the .blend file for your perusal…

Thanks,

CCJ

select the curve and hit ALT C, to convert to mesh. You might want to mess with the resolution before doing so, though, depending upon how high poly you want it.
