Texturing a Realistic Cow

I have been learning to add UV texture and am now putting fur on my cow. I am having a very hard time setting the fur correctly. If you have a clue what I am doing wrong please let me know I would be very grateful.

It looks pretty good for the most part. If you can, get a copy of a recent issue of 3Dworld magazine, which has a good tutorial on doing fur in blender.
