I’ve modelled quite a large oak tree and now I want to texture it but what is the best way to unwrap a large tree model because I’ve tried so many ways and…nothing. So can someone please shed some info on this.
I guess you should mark seams where the branches meet the main piece and along the length of the main piece/branches. You’ll get several rectangular pieces.
I’d place the seams out of sight of the camera.

also depends how good you need the texture
do you need to zoom in very close to the tree or only from far away?
if close then you need to use a real tree’s picture to get realist
if not just use a proc texture
