So, what I would like to do is use a texture to make a solid object fade, that is, to map a diminishing alpha onto the object.
I have tried what I thought should work, putting a blend texture with a solid color fading into 0 alpha, and then selecting “Alpha” in Map To but this isn’t doing what I’ve got in mind, it’s leaving the underlying material intact.
