Texturing an extruded oval

I am having nightmares trying to map an oval logo onto a an extruded oval in 2.54.

I can’t import the original .svg file so I have a perfect fit for the logo. So I have tried a flattened tube and then a Bezier circle which I have stretched.

What is the best way to tackle this? Can I import paths into 2.54?

Any help appreciated.

You could convert the .svg to a .jpg and import the .jpg to Blender as a Background Image. Build curves from there.
