Texturing Clothing Help

Hey! I’ve been using Blender for some time now, and I’m kinda tired of using the internal texturing and materials because they don’t make the best results, especially for clothing. So I’ve been looking into UV texturing, which is fine.

My question is, how can you create good clothing textures in another program[gimp], or should I just take pictures of clothing? :spin:

Normally you use internal texture to create weave bump. UV is used for the color or design on clothing.

Okay. Thanks. What would I use for the weave bump? Would I use noise? Or some other texture?

Look at the site like Blender Open Material Repository to down load some examples to study. There are so many different ways. For cloth, you need to pick pattern that repeats like Magic.

Thank you for your help.
