I try to find the “blender way” for texturing.
I used a new material and loaded all the images into blender ( color, bump and specular) and put them into the right slot ( col/nor/spec)
I dont know why, but i can´t see the result in the viewport. I have to render a picture to see what I got.
Do I have to enable the specular with a seperate value? I cant see any difference in the rendering by using my spec map.
Is there a way to see the material, with all the applied textures, in a nodeeditor?
Thanks for any help.
Yours Hilmar
I used to work with MAX for over 8 Years and feel like a “new born baby” by using blender. I have to ask for every simple step. Sorry for the upcomming boring questions :o)

If you have a GLSL capable card, just check ‘Blender GLSL materials’ in the game menu and then switch to textured view. This is for the BGE mainly, but it can be used to preview materials.
The second one, I think to have the texture affect specularity you need the spec. value to be at 0, as it adds specularity to the material based on material B&W values I believe.
