texturing problem

Hey,

I modeled a mesh and I created a texture for it in my painting program. When I add this image as a texture to my mesh, the texture is not visible when I render it. But I can see it in my preview window.

What did I do ?

  1. I selected the mesh in object mode
  2. gave it the default material
  3. added a new texture: type: image
  4. loaded my file (png-type)
    Now I see the result in the preview
  5. edit-mesh-buttons: enabled text face
  6. material buttons: enabled text face
  7. rendering buttons: env map and osa buttons enabled

result: no texture rendered :< %|

can somebody help me ?

I don’t see anything wrong in the steps you describe (although some not necessary), so maybe you can post the blend file (don’t forget to pack data before -> File/pack data, this will include the texture in the blendfile)

“tex face” in the material buttons is only for textures assigned in face select mode by uv mapping

can it be
that the mistake I made
is the fact that I just
made a png file of my rendered mesh
(did not unwrap it)
and just painted it in gimp
and that the texture-image is to small to notice when rendered
cause
when I use that file on a cube
I can see the textures

(my god, do I make sense ???)
