The result for my floating, stainless steel glucose molecule is probably not as spiffy as you pro’s would get it, but it was good enough as an element on my PhD thesis cover. Besides, if one of you masters had done it, I’d have to reduce the quality to prevent it outshining the rusted panel overlay.
Anyway, thanks for the tips on the PDB upload script and the materials database. Very useful. If my new job and new baby allow me time I’ll certainly try and put some more time into learning to use blender properly. I’ll put blenderartists in the acknowledgements for the cover image!
