Great water and boat. I love it
Nice. Awesome job on the water. [!]
thats one CRAZY big pumpkin!

woa! that is some awsome water… how did you do that?
the water is looking much cooler with the grass reflection in it, is it possible to make the grass reflection start farther away from the camera. like closer to the grass

Big_Kahuna, everytime you do a model i am blown away by your textures. They are so realistic and nice. This scene is great. I really like the water and the reflection on it. And the umbrella is nice too. I hope your mom likes it. Good Luck at school and all.
The umbrella kind of looks like a tomato. Otherwise it’s great.
Looks good!
I’d suggest to put some sort of pattern on the umbrella. It’ll make it much more interesting than just a big red blob.
i got rid of the umbrella.

I actually think the umbrella added a good point of focus in this image. The bright red also acted as a good foil to the blues and greens of the rest of the image (all earth tones). Now the scene looks a little empty.
However, the umbrella needs a little work because it is too smooth looking. Sharp edges and support spines should make it less mistakable for a tomato/pumkin.
Other than that, great image. The textures are perfect. Care to share the secret of that water with us newbies?
very nice, i agree with samir that the umbrella gives contrasty in colour, but just needs a tiny bit of definition, maybe just go through the knife along the splines to give it a bit more point =D
the wateris really cool, its good blender community know well of how to use Nor mapping etc for a great water effect =)
keep it up, its one of the best thigns ive seen from you, seem to be improving fast eh =)
Peace Out!
here is a another part of this.

hihihii. oh this is what the bird was for.
little mixture of styles here, I like it. and definetely, put the umbrella back! I liked it, even tho, dominated red color area in the picture, it added a lot to the overall setup! it was interesting. without the umbrella, it seems just a boat and some water.
also, I liked the first version of water better.
excellent.
.b
actually i agree with basse the forst version of the water is better.
however i disagree with the umbrella bit, because i know there will be a fisherman in the boat so it won’t look like just a boat in the end, it will have a fisherman and some objects in it.
perhaps it also needs a few props in it like an awe and a fishing box and some worms.
very nice.
oh and perhaps you should put some trees on the bank using the tree generating script. i dunno i guess thats not important.

WOW! You added a lot to the bird since I saw it in IRC. Very well done. It looks great.

well thanx for the crits and i will change the water back later today i have to put up christmas lights right now.
Basse i am sure that you are going to like the final outcome when i have the fisherman in the boat and the tacklebox and the can of worms. the overall setup of the scene is not done the things out side of the cameras view are not even finished modelled it was going to be a still for my mom which it still is and then alltaken convinced me to take a hack at animating it. so now i have to go and modell alot of stuff and i need to work on getting the overall feel of the scene so any good ideas that are well explained on lighting would be really good for me.
alltaken about the trees i was thinking about it and i was going to ask you about it later today.
i really dont have a deadline on this because i am going to make an hononest attemp at doing this i am not going to half-ass it.
well here is a tiny update i have been playing with the textures of the beak and the skin the beak texture just needs a bit more tweaking. The Skin Texture needs alot of work.

Ok I have a few sujestions, for the water to animate it just make it move slightly to the lower left and make the texture move in the up/ dpwn direction or the z axis as I call it, I have done this before and make it move really slow, (looking back at old project), really really slow. And for those of you out there wondering who I am I am one of those guys who look at all the forums and do all the totorials make their own stuff but never get to posting. Well I hope to change that for me. And about the lighting, try making it in sunset scene, to do this I usually just switch the red + blue values on everything or do it in post production. I think it would cool to see what it would look like, more fisherman feel. Or on the other hand make it darker and the light shining threw the grass to make it early morning shot. I mean when are you going to see someone fishing in the middle of the day, most fish are out in late night or early morning, (only if you want though, it would make it more “correct” but this might not be what your strivng for).
