Lets not forget leaving our CC in our pockets (although its all chip and pin so i doubt it get affected)
Oh and cant listen to music on those HD mp3 players like the ipod…
What happens if you wobble it to much ;), will it flip over really really fast and crush you to death, or maybe send you flying a few miles! lol.

It serves no usefull purpose.
This is exactly the kind of “innovation” (if that’s what you call it) that irritates me. It serves no purpose whatsoever, yet there is a buzz about it.
For about 3 billion other ways that mag-lev technology could be implemented to solve a relevant problem, some dutch (I don’t hate dutch people) a-hole has enough free time on his hands to make a mag-lev bed.
What’s next, a floating toilet?
Even thogh it is an impractical design, I don’t think it is a waste of time. There’s a lot of good things that could come off it. Maybe the idea of a floating bed (which is way cool imo) may inspire someone else to design something more practical. Or, the magnetic technology could be used for something else, who knows. That is way the words ‘invention’ and ‘inspiration’ are so closely linked.
Anyway, If anyone could make a bed that floats, is quite, safe and affordable, I would be the first to buy it.
At least you wont get the squeak squeak, any more.
Who would want to sleep on a contraption like that? Next thing you know, they are going to come up with beds where we are strapped onto the beds, and then the beds are going to float around on random angles…

I could never fall asleep on one of those. I have buns of steel.
The human body isn’t affected by magnetic fields, so that’s not an issue.
What about people wiht tattoos? Its been shown that a tatoo can cause irration in a CAT scan. Not to mention petople wiht prosthetics and other such (My aunt has a false hip, and that registers on a metal dectotor). But on the good side an invention like this just proves that we can make stuff float, so we could then, say, make a car float, and remove all of our decaying roads and replace them wiht hidden magnetic fields, hidden under grass. One could also use this for heavy lifting (place something like the bed under, say a grand piano) place a magnetic field down, flip a switch and just pull it along. You could also use it for other stuff like the bed, and have a floating fridge or countertops.

I came up with a magnetic floating bed a couple of years ago. I was gonna use donut shaped magnets woven together sorta like a hammock and tether it and such. Then I figured I could cover a room floor and walls a few feet high with magnets, then weave an outfit (similar process to the bed idea) and randomly wobble around a room, get to a wall an be pushed back out(supervised, of course, as it may have been hard to get out on my own)…
But I’m not made o’ money and that many strong magnets are beyond my budget…and my family might wanna commit me.
The body is not, but the mind is, a strong magnetic field can influence the chemical processes of neuron transmission over a long period, and having 900Kg worth of magnetism under your bed is bound to push a few magnetised particles in your body upwards instead of “wherever they usually go”.
Also some people have a sense of direction, and I bet it’s going to be weird sitting on a bed after having woken up and not knowing where “north” is.
I’m also wondering what the "range"of the magnetic field would be, there’s a magnetic studies lab at the university, they installed computers in a building on the other side of the street, they where all perfectly working, except that the CRT screens had to be recalibrated because sometimes the image would shift to the right or the left on all computers…
