This pic is one of many I’m plannning to make to illustrate the story in Frank Herbert’s Dune collection. Anyone who wants to help is welcome to contact me.

Anyway, I made two pics following a nebula tutorial from somewhere :wink:
I know there are some things missing, but I can’t put my finger on em. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This project took about 5 hours, i cluding last night from 10PM-2AM :smiley:

Maybe I should have posted this in the WIP section…

Btw, does anyone remember the Navigators’ Guild logo?

Of course, drag and drop in the address field in Explorer…(copy n paste if you like…)

Well, your images looked really good, personally i liked the first one!!! :wink:

A couple of suggestions tho:

  1. Tell people to cut and paste when your server dosent allow direct linking to image files, or imbed them in html which is really easy to do.

  2. To show ppl your work, jpg is probably the best format. I have cable and it took a little while to download the png’s, tho i will say i liked the way it loaded, at least you could partially see it as it loaded.

  3. (acctually about your images) The planet in the background looks just a little to shiny, maybe lower the spec just a tad. :wink:

Great work!

I like the first one too, but the images take a long while with my 56k connection (im not as lucky as Bapsis :-? ). As Bapsis says try jpg.

Anyway, good work and keep on Dunning :smiley:

Bapsis: Q1. actually, if you review my post, I specified cut n paste please, although I think dragging the link in the address bar is easier.

Q2. My bad! It’s just that I’ve never tried to export a png before, so I had to experiment. From now on I’ll post in Jpg. Actually, it’s not because of the png. It’s because the file is bout 900k :o

Q3. Yeah, I left it that way, I was thinking it’s kinda metalic planet or otherwise has a really shiny atmosphere :wink: If it bothers ppl, maybe I’ll correct it sometime in the not so near future 8)

Well, it’s good to see at least sombody was honest and told me I suck!!! By the way, dows my own vote count…? :wink:

i got dune on tape do you think the guild logo would be on there if so id be more than willing to have a look thru and fgind it for you…

actually, if I read the (7) books all over again, I’ll stumble over it eventually. Can you send me the movie so i can double-check though? 8) I’ve been trying to get it on DVD ever since it came out. (the 1986 version of course)
