Now that the voting is over for the weekend competition, I wanted to post this in here along with an alternate version I made as some fanart for one of my favorite speedrunners! I happened to be watching his speedrun of the Wii version of Punchout he did blindfolded when I was trying to think of what to do for the theme “The Best”. It was pretty crazy, even though he said he’d need to restart multiple times, he ended up beating every single fighter in the first round blindfolded! I definitely recommend checking it out! His username is Zallard1 and it was SGDQ2019 Punchout for the Wii!
Anyway, here are my 2 variations, the first being the entry and the second that I ended up sending over to him:
His blindfold in the second variation says (from the Japanese quote source I read through): “見ぬが花 (Minu ga hana) Literally: Not seeing is a flower. This means: Things will never be as you imagine, so you’re better off not seeing them. / Reality can’t compete with imagination” I thought it was hilariously fitting!
Everything was rendered and sculpted in Eevee and textured with procedural textures aside from the text on the blindfold!
