It didn’t really change the planning since the focus is still on the same important tasks.
It takes time either way.

@fr002 @dan2 Yep, once the Multres refactor will be started the idea is to store the sculpted information as VDM displacement maps. So the workflow with subdivisions, and layered sculpting can be much more versatile
For example targeting a specific layer for sculpting while having a mixed result of layers visible. Or sculpting the lower subdiv levels while displaying higher subdivs as a bump map.

So it’s not about getting rid of Multires or the Multires workflow. But it’s about rebuilding the system for an evolved subdivision based sculpting feature set.
