Hello, I’m new here but I published my works on Blender Cookie before 
This work was my entry to Blender Guru competition. But i wanna work with this more ( more knights in background, maybe some enviro). Hope You like it. C&C are welcome
Actually, … I really really like the “alone yet resolute to the very end look” of this hopitalier. It represents his existence and calling, against all odds.
The chain mail is F’N Great. Really outstanding. The face is perfect for this portrait.
The only small thing I would change is the detail and look of the hands. The man is aged, and certainly extremely weather worn by his vocation.
His hands, illuminated by light should reveal that as well. (His illuminated face and hands reveal the qualities of his character.)
The knuckles and fingers should be thickened and the skin lined and roughened. Scarred possibly.

that’s absolutely beautiful and deserves great recognition as is. I could see it winning the competition. I agree with FXR about the hands, though that could just be the light washing out some of the detail on them. Also and this is a very small thing that my weird mind notices, the metal tip of the belt looks too big to fit through the loop.
thats really awesome work! I like the shading and the 3D workout you did there 
But his armor needs to be lightened a bit from the fire (sparks) on the bottom
Also try to render it with a bit more samples.
