The Dig: Cocytan Ocean (ANIMATION on page 2)

Thanks!

Maybe I can have this one just curve back to the right off in the distance.

Excellent question. I’m actually working around one of blender’s current problems. Omni-directional shadows are not intuitively implemented yet. To achieve the same effect, one requires 6 square spotlights pointed out from a central position to form a cube. Each spotlight needs to be 90 degrees.

Keep on giving me feedback, guys! It’s really helpful!

"6 square spotlights pointed out from a central "

Yeah, that what i thought. But I made it one time, too and there were bad shadows where the edges of the lights meet each other. It was just very inexact. Well done

Hehehe, you’ll never escape the wrath of my unending updates to this topic! :stuck_out_tongue: I’ve extended the animation a little, and in doing so, I draw much attention away from the shot you’ve been looking at for so long. Not exactly a good thing, but hey, I needed some variety…

Realism is difficult…

:o

Very nice! The new top-down section is a bit dark compared with the other, older section. It would be nice to have it a touch brighter to see more of the details, yet still have the “deep under the sea” mood.

Very, very cool.
