Just wanted to pop in here for a moment and thank you all very much for the great responses 
It’s always interesting to me to hear reactions and interpretations. This one brewed in my mind for a long time, and it’s a great relief to get it out there and contemplated.
The title was there from the beginning, and the “or-ness” of it, being either an entrance or an exit, remained central to the way this project developed, down to the perspective, colors, and lighting.
The interpretive potential of allowing the viewer decide whether this was an entrance or an exit was exciting too.

Very nice. I appreciate that this could have easily been done with paint or some other medium but you went out of your way to render it three dimensionally. It’s a refreshing stray from the photorealistic path.

I see it as an Entrance to a new life, leaving the old dark one behind. Waiting to bath in the clear water to wash away the dirt of the past while being soaked with the abundance of warm sunlight.
to me this symbolized a new life
i would say that the title causes me to think of it as a princes or prince being thrown out of a castle
and they are thinking that this could be a new beggining or it could be the end of the life they knew
just my thoughts
about the technique
the picture has a wonderful painted look about it and its really very pretty the only thing i feel detracts from the beauty is the brightness of the light
it sort of hurts my eyes although that may be what you were aiming for

Very nice. I havent seen this for so long, I cant remember who the artist was? I enjoy the the high contrast, from warm to cold, LOL.
The quandry reminds me of “Sunset or Sunrise”. Hmm, sounds like a good blender project.
Anyway, so glad you did this!
Is that the sun? or something else? The colors are terrific, make this a very lively piece of work. More importantly, the image poses a question, provokes thought.
