Hi, this is the image I made for the Blender Guru Competition.
I rendered this in cycles at 700 samples, textures were done in gimp.

Good job. The wrapping paper seems a little thick, and the boy seems to be missing the lower half of his body. Also, look at the bottom of a staircase. They usually don’t just go into the floor, they end with the last step. Love the tree and the garland. Maybe add some garland to the stair rail and some lights to the tree.
