The Impasta: "Be Souped Up, Not Cooped Up"

Last year (2023), I began my 3D modeling journey as an artist.

I had no prior experience with 3D programs, but it was always a childhood dream.

My goal has been to pay the bills doing something I love.

So, I watched tutorial after tutorial (starting with the donut).

And I wondered what my differentiator was.

What could make me “stand out?”

I love wordplay and puns.

So, I decided to make literal figures of speech.

I still don’t pay the bills with this.

But I do make people laugh.

I conquered a lot of self-doubt through the laughter.

And I learned to become the souped-up version of myself.

And I’m having a lot of fun.

This character is one of many Artickles (art tickles) I created over the past year.

And he reminds me to overcome that imposter syndrome I felt when first starting out.

After all, what do you call a fake noodle?
An Impasta!

I bet if you sold prints of these and your other works on Etsy, you’d make a fair bit- they’re fire and I’d like one

Thank you!

I do sell them. They’re on my website at hairebrained.com

I design and model them. My wife prints them and hand-paints each one!

Just not making the volume of sales right now. We’ll get there though.
