The Legend of Zelda - A Thread to the Blenderheads

I saw this on DeviantART last night, and it’s totally awesome!

switch it to Full View if you can
it was made by Dionicio, though not with Blender…still awesome though

(big thanks to Dionicio for letting me link the page here)

Very great.

Hey, I drew a quick model of the hookshot :

Though, finaly it would work better with a kind of nail as a hook.
As you can see, I thought of a rope rather than a chain, for both usability and weight, and also because a chain could get stuck in the device as well as on itself.
The middle part rotate (as always) so the rope can be unreeled when the hook is fired.

I gotta say, Twilight Princess is my favorite Zelda game, OoT comes at a close second. Link to the Past was also AMAZING and was the game that made me fall in love with the series.

Navi sucks, I hate her. She was totally useless. And what kind of man walks around with a fairy!? Midna was a pretty sick helper!

Even though TP was my favorite I don’t really like the whole being a wolf thing, don’t know why. But I loved the enemies, bosses, and puzzles in TP and OoT.

I kinda want to see a rated M Zelda game with blood and gore. Also, the games need to go together more. Maybe more character development with Link. He is really boring. He always has the same facial expressions. The wind waker Link was the most believable character. I didn’t really like the cartoony graphics though.

Yes, these three games really are kinda…the best. (Though, Maybe I’d place Oracle of Seasons, Spirit Tracks or WindWaker before A Link to the Past).

I found that the Kokiri-guy-with-a-fairy was a cool concept, especially for a guy who’s saving the world from evil.
More blood and gore would just make…well, we would just not know anymore who really is evil in the story.

By the way, that is a question I’m often asking : Who is the bad and who is the good in a movie, a game or a story?
After all, almost all the time, the “good” kills more people than the bad…

Yucko, blood and gore? Like as in… cutting of heads and stuff? Abominable. I couldn’t stand it if every bad guy was chopped to pieces( literally). No offense. By the way, sorry I’ve been gone, stuffs been happening, but I’m back now. Wow, you guys sure can talk a lot while I’m gone. Hey, cool, homemade hookshot! Oh, nice sketch.gasp ( Trying to comment on everything since I was gone) No, I won’t kiss any of you, even if I was a girl. T., interesting locational moment theory, a long one too. Sigh, I think that’s everything… Oh, wait. What is a ICR? Is that some way we can have real-time arguments over different theories? By the way, I like the flashlight avatar. The center glowing is cool.

Wow, you’re good!
So imagine when I come to answer one of this chatterbox French thead years after the last post! :stuck_out_tongue: (Though I’m happy I can read documentation in both english and french on the web…even if french docu is almost always from France, and often they’re just loosing their time talking for nothing apart trying to win the discussion.)

Yes, the IRC is a kind of online chat. You need software to use it (maybe you already have one…). Some of them can be used from your navigator. I downloaded Pidgin, because I found it quickly on framasoft.net
Though, I’m not sure there will be at least two of us on the channel at the same time…

To catch each other, we most likely will have to log in more or less constantly…

WB Servant.
Wow, you are a master at keeping yourself short while replying to hundreds of posts, lol.
And I agree with you: Zelda and Gore play together too well. That’s actually what a lot of the older fans critizised about TP.
I personally have to say, TP is a bit too easy, except maybe the Cave or Ordeals…

Has anyone of you looked at OoT Master Quest?

Well, TP seemed fantastic to me, but I do understand what you mean now that I’ve started playing WW. With time, it seems like they can’t invent that much new things for the games. But TP still is awesome to me!

Hey, Inferno! :
King : Hey, What are you do Link?
Link : Eh…I was just gonna swing into your daughter’s window and try to get her to kiss me!
King : Not a chance.
Link : No?
King : No.
King : You’ll need to take flowers, then you might succeed! Yes! Girls are crazy about flowers.
Link : Right…Flowers! Thanks!
King : Good luck my boy!
PUSH
Link : YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUH

Pidgin? I’ll look into it right now.

PS. Everyone tells me I talk really, really really fast.

But very very effectively.

Today I cast the jewel of the Master Sword. We did it with lead (well, 70% tin in fact…) and then we tried with aluminium. The aluminium kinda burned the balsa wood mold, but it resisted (when we put a wood stick in the melted aluminium, it caught fire…). Anyway, we’ll probably use the two lead jewels instead. Here is the first one :

Okay, I admit that I have processed the picture to get it golden! It is actualy grey.
I still have to sand it, but it already looks like the TP one, doesn’t it?

Here the three jewels we made (alu, 1st lead, 2nd lead).

When looking at it and thinking about what it would be, I realized new things.
Okay, now that it is a well known fact that I’m crazy, I will further advance my Tetra theory.
As you know, the Master Sword has two jewels : one of each side of the crossguard.
Strangely enough, there always are two similar things on the Child Timeline shields :

On the Ocarina of Time shield, we can see a Tetraforce and a tail to the bird.
On the Twilight Princess shield (sorry for this order, I know that ALttP is supposed to be before TP, but I really believe that the TP shield is earlier than the ALttP one), we can see no Tetraforce, and two tails to the bird.
On the A Link to the Past shield, we can see two Tetraforces, and apparently no tail.
*The Link’s Awakening and Oracles of Seasons/Ages shields are like the A Link to the Past one.
What does that mean?
Two jewels on the Sword

  • Evidences that these jewels are the Tetraforce
  • Two Tetraforces and/or jewel shape tails on each shield.
I don’t know what it exactly means, but I believe the tail(s) of the bird are the jewels, and that the Tetraforce(s) are the jewels too.

Now, let’s talk about the shapes I marked in green on the picture. These shapes look way more similar to the cross-guard of the Sword than the red bird itself. I think they symbolise that the sword itself containing the “bird” spirit.
But, is it really a bird? Or is it a kind of woman with a kind of wings cape and kind of 5 locks of hair pointing down and one pointing up?

Huh? :eyebrowlift:

( And this kind of woman figure’s head also looks like…hmm, what’s her name…oh, yeah, Tetra! )

EDIT : Oh, sorry, “Tetraforce” means “Complete Triforce with 4 parts”. I used it as “4th part of the Triforce”. Sorry for the confusion if ever there have been confusion.

I don’t really think, she looks like tetra… Rather like the Great fairy queen from WW…

Yes, I know the look is not identical. Anyway, I personaly don’t care about Tetra neither anybody who’d look like her. I just noticed and added it in the last parentheses, but my theory is far more about the jewel of the Master Sword, the blue figure and the 4th triangle.

By the way, I have to tell you guys that both Zelda Wiki and Zeldapedia say that Aonuma and Miyamoto stated there is no Tetraforce. No more details given.
Though, they didn’t put any reference to that supposed interview (and no reference at all on anything on the pages in question).
And if the question Aonuma and Miyamoto answered was : “Is there a 4th triforce?”
then I can understand they said “No”. Because a middle-pointing-down triangle wouldn’t be - to me - a 4th triforce.
It would rather be something else, a 4th part the Godesses created - as they created 4 Light Spirits (TP) instead of 3 - and that this 4th part would be some sort of unification force of the whole Triforce.

everyone owns an infinity of infinitely small triforces. The sum of them is called sierpinsky triangle.

The power of “the” triforce comes from its size. It’s way larger than infinitely small, obviously. - The infinitely many infinitely small triforces in us just create that bit of wisdom, courage or strenght, that everyone of us has.

Now THAT’s a theory, huh?

I’m lost. Maybe you like the fractals a bit too much.

Well, I wonder what is the origin of that Sierpinsky triangle. Did Sierpinsky (or anybody else) just invented that triangle-with-an-empty-triangle-in-the-middle shape for fun, or is there something that actualy looks like that in nature?

EDIT :
By the way, just for information for everybody, the word “triforce” doesn’t refer to the number of triangles, neither to the whole Triforce. Remember how were called the triforces in the fist game, when only TWO triforces existed?
The name refers to the shape of the triforces.
(So the word “Tetraforce” is totaly dummy and due to a missunderstanding of the word “Triforce”.
Considering that “Tetraforce” is the replacing word for “[whole] Triforce” in the theory in which there are 4 pieces.)

well, the “true” Tetraforce would probably look like one segment of this

The sierpinski triangle wasn’t invented “for fun”, nor does it actually exist in nature. It was part of a new mathematical idea, including stuff like the monster-curves, which are just straight lines that can fully fill space or are infinitely long without taking up infinite space or similar odd behaviour.
The sierpinsky triangle has an infinite side-lenght and no area while not expanding to infiinity.

…has an infinite side-lenght and no area while not expanding to infiinity.
Isn’t that common to any fractal?

Cool picture! Did ya make it?

But actualy, I still can’t see the bond between this and the Triforce. First, the triforces don’t even have the same shape than that triangle, and nothing leads to think that there are fractals…well, not that much at least.
I mean, yes the triforces can be divided in pieces (as we saw in many games, 8 pieces is the more common, and there is also the business with the two pieces not having the same shape neither size in WW), but the whole Triforce is not composed of a fractal infinity of its own shape.
You’re just kidding about it, eh?

Yeah, the infinite side-lenght is pretty much common to most fractals, except maybe for the cator dust and variations… However, the zero area definitely is not true. Fractals vary a lot in their buildup
But when the sierpinski triangle was found, only a few or no objects where found with such properties. I think, it wasn’t actually the first one but one of the first.
Nope, I didn’t create that picture on my own…
I didn’t mean, the triforce would be like that but the tetraforce. The triforce is built from three threesided and objects with three corners (equilateral triangles) aranged in a pattern that represents the same theesided shape (the complete triforce)

The tetraforce then must consist of four foursided objects (regular tetraedra) with four corners which then form the same foursided shape together.

The pentaforce wouldn’t actually be possible in 3D, if it had to fulfill those requirements  An object with n+1 sides and n+1 corners, where all the vertices are connected by straight lines of same lenght can only be built in an n-or-more-D environment.

that means, the pentaforce would need a 4D environment.

And yeah, sorry if it wasn’t clear, I thought, it was obvious: I joked with that theory of mine

I have to say that I’m lost with the explanations, but I had understood that you were joking.

Though I’m interrested. Do you know a way to explain all your last post to somebody who didn’t do this kind of math?

The thing is, I often understand these compelxe things, but never with the common method. As MeshWeaver could tell it you too, I don’t like formulaes and abstract values and I prefer concrete drawings and examples.

I think I didn’t even get what really was that traingle yet cause I can’t figure out why a pentaforce would need 4 dimensions (and 4D is another thing I can’t figure out given that…well, space has only 3 dimensions.) So it’s humanly unfeasible, right? We could show each face of such a object on a 2D plan, but couldn’t make the whole thing, is that it?

It’s like a black hole…could anybody show me what it would actualy looks like? I didn’t succeed myself…

Well, I can’t show you, how a 4D object would look like…
I’m rendering a small scene which I’ll then also post the blend of. That should help, I hope…
