The little pink dot

I’ve had this question for awhile, but am finally asking. After I create an object, it seems that somehow the center point (the pink dot) gets moved from the center of the object. I’d like to put it back, but I can’t seem to move that little pink bugger. How do I put that center dot back where he belongs?

1: The object center, if you move the object by selecting all of the verticies while in edit mode the object center stays in the original location. If you want to move the object without changing the center, exit edit mode, then with the object selected move the object, then reenter edit mode if you want to do more vertex level editing.
2: To relocate the object center choose the object out of edit mode, in the edit buttons select Centre, Centre New, Centre Cursor depending on what you want the center to do.
Centre: Returns the object to its center. (Works in or out of edit mode)
Centre New: Moves the center to the object. (Only out of edit mode)
Centre Cursor: Moves the center to the location of the cursor. (Only out of edit mode)
These buttons are in the edit buttons window on the right side under the Rem Doubles button.

pink dot = pivot point 8)

lovely lovely dot

sexy little dot… You can’t really move it directly.

No, but indirectly by moving the verticies in edit mode. Or kind of directly using the curser. Some what directly by move the object out of edit mode.

I know - I was just trying to wax poetic.

Thank you all for your waxy help. Don’t know why I didn’t notice those buttons before. MMMmmmm so many buttons… (drooling sound).
