The little snowdrop

I’ve been making some 3D plants recently and I made this cute little render of a snowdrop for the “serene” weekly challenge
Everything in the render is made by me apart from the moss, which is from Graswald (amazing addon, thanks @Yukon ! ) and the HDRI which is from HDRI Haven.

Really nice work on those plants! Good job

Damn! Thanks a lot!

Thanks! I did actually use alphas for the leaves and petals of the models, but only to give the edges a bit of detail, and I’m pretty sure it would look fine without it.

Would you mind telling a bit about the process.

Yeah, definitely! I mainly just followed the steps shown in this great talk by Julius Harling (which I would highly recommend watching) to make the snowdrop. The only things I did differently was that I used a document scanner to get the textures, which isn’t really necessary but it meant that I got pretty even lighting and a nice background:

.
I also used Affinity photo to edit it, which is a great photoshop alternative for no subscription.
For lighting, I used a sunny HDRI from HDRI Haven and a forest one for the background.
Hope that helps :grinning:
