Your first blender render? Btw, it looks nice, but i think you should add some trees or more details to the scene.

No, it’s not my first blender render  but something I was just messing around with.

Trees… maybe  I’m pushing my system a little hard as it is with the grass particle system… I’d ideally like the grass to be about 600% more dense, but i’m not sure my 'puter can handle it.

Actually, this started out as something interesting to do with the sword mesh (which has a LOT more detail than appears in this render). The sword is detailed enough that It can be rendered from about 3" away and still looks good

The problem with things like swords is that they are so long that to get them in the shot, you have to be so far away that you lose much of the detail.

Why don’t you lower the sword’s detail? Well, you should at least lower it for pictures that don’t need it. That way, you could have denser grass.

Well, most of the sword detail is in the textures and surface curves, so there’s really not much detail to reduce. If I may say so, it’s really quite an elegant model

But I’m thinking now that I want to take the sword out and do something else with the scene. The sword is really out of place in that field

I see you got your grass working.

Maybe for the grass try using ripstings fiber script (its great for that kinda thing)

Nice sword and marsh like environment (except it has hills)

 Cool you added a misty look, very nice. It should also bee really cool, to make a landschape (= this right english  ) with more mist, and that you see some shadows of animals drinking from the lake, with some sunrays of the morning sun. :stuck_out_tongue:
