I have no idea abut devs really, Pablo Fournier from Spring had Maya background, I think he said that in the weekly podcast with Pablo Vazquez, I suppose Hjalti and the others too, all gave them feedback about the animation side of blender I suppose, anyhow you can look at the module and what the devs are working on.
