It’s Christmas time again, and i’m here again with a Special Christmas Render!!
This is the recreation of one of my Nutcrackers, i really love them, and i’ve tried to recreate it as good as i could, all the little details, the dust on the hat, the little scratches on the paint, the glue to hold some pieces together…
Everything done by hand in Blender (except the pine cones, those were photoscanned!!)

Impressive! I love this, I always had the idea of modeling and rendering a nutcracker but I doubt I would have gotten such a beautiful outcome, materials and lighting are spot on and the little details look incredible, did you use substance painter for the materials? i really love how they look!

No I did not use substance painter, this is all Blender 100% (except for the pinecones, photoscanned by me and created with RealityCapture). I always layer the materials (add scratches, dust and imperfections one on top of each other) to try and make them look realistic enough!!
Fun aside: Have you ever actually read the originalbook from which the “Nutcracker” story came? If not, you should grab a copy. It is quite different from what you might expect, and a good bit more “dark!” (!!)
