The Sky Island of AeroSeoul (mk2)

Well i found my old AeroSeoul model, and thought i’d come back to it, and see what i can do to improve (i think the old image link is down, use your imaginations, lol)

blocked out some really rough shapes in blender, and started painting over the top to give myself a guideline of where stuff should go, rather than just throwing things in randomly.

Paint over in photoshop

Starting to put in basic buildings

I’ll be tweaking the lighting etc later, i think, after i’ve done the worst of the texturing and modelling. I plan to do the vegetation in post process afterward (i know the new particles are good, but seriously :P) and i’m expecting to have to do a lot of modification to the bottom part in PP also.

criticism and comments welcomed!

Looking good. It reminds me of some boolean models done in Bryce.

beutiful model and art. very relaxing, in my opinion!
Only crit is, on that centerish building, where the odd dome-thing is, it hangs off the side of the building some, and it looks like you can see up inside of it from there.
Other than that, looks wonderful! Keep it up, add fog!! :stuck_out_tongue:

It has two shadows. Remove the one that is far away.

The “shadow” in the foreground is a reflection of the structure in the water.

I like the “washed” look in the photoshop paintover. It looks like a nice style for the image. I’m guessing that you will be putting that finish on it once you get the detailing done so it should look pretty nice.

Looks interesting so far and I wait to see how things go with the details. I’m insterested to see how things progress.

Thanks!

Thanks very much! i find it very important to remember to create a finished art, not a good model. Thanks for pointing out the dome thing, i’ll revise that. Fog will definatley be featuring in post pro

Thanks, the washed look was just a quick test to see what i might like to do with colour correction etc with the final render, i will indeed be doing something similar to this for the final.
