I’m using blender 3.0 and when I turned up the subsurface scattering on the foam of the drink it started to look a bit weird. But when i rendered it (in cycles) it took on a sort of a reddish color. I’m not sure if it is supposed to look like that and its natural or if something went wrong. So i need some feedback and advice.
here is a screenshot of the texture if it helps.
This is due to how sss works, in the radius settings there are 3 values that indicate the distance that each coloured light ray (rgb) will enter the surface.
If you set them to be equal values (eg 1, 1, 1 or 0.5, 0.5, 0.5) then it will look grey scale.
You can then tint the sss with the colour option.
Edit: this explanation is a bit simplistic as in real life surfaces do let the different coloured light rays enter the surface at different values, the default settings are an approximation of skin values.
