The work clock- Surrealism

I made it entirely in Blender Cycles and rendered it with 300 samples. Worktime was about 8 hours.


I’m not sure this is a render. Is this a render? That’s really cool! The hair right under the clock is looking a bit strange but other that that it’s great. Can i ask how did you create these blurred dust specs and aberration effect that covers the bar on top of the clock?

The aberration effect can be achieved by using the lens distortion node in the compositor. I rendered the dust specs separately with a particle system and then used that layer as an overlay in the compositor and set the opacity really really low. I used DoF to get those dust
specs to be that blurred out.
