I wanted to share my latest theater render. I was thinking I might submit this first image to the blender gallery. You guys think I have a remote chance of being accepted? The chairs look a bit boxy but that is actually how they look in real life. I modelled them as I saw them. Also, I tried insetting some images of the other views but it seemed to clutter up my proposed entry. Do you think I should try again or it looks better w/o the other views?
This is really nice. It looks just like home theaters. The lighting is perfect. A friend of mine has one. He also has a concession stand fully stocked with candy, with soda dispenser and popcorn-machine.
Small C&C:
You captured the soft texture for the lounge chairs, however, I would like to see some stitching (or seams) UVmapped in them. The steps are good, but the corners seem a little too sharp. Round them off a little or place some aluminum corner strips there.
I disagree on the lighting - I think it could be alot better. The overall feel is quite flat and the optical fibres in the ceiling really dull, grey. There’s something really unnatural about the pictures on the wall. I’m no lighting expert myself, but I’d work on it a bit more =) I see no reason why you wouldn’t get accepted to the gallery.
I agree about the lighting - it could be better. Also the textures seem blury. The concept and camera angles are nice, but the final rendering could do some more work.
Interesting catch on the stairs. I actually did a tiny bit of post pro to soften them up in Gimp but they still look a bit sharp eh? Nice idea on the stitching… not sure if i’ll have time to do it or not but that is a good comment.
