jackblack, this is not the way to go about this… if you have an honest grievance with any of the mods/admins/powers-that-be… PM them directly. Don’t drag the whole community into an ugly war of words. For my part, those that know me well know that I am very dedicated to my faith and if asked, will gladly share… but I will not start threads on religion because that just leads to ugliness, rancor and ill will. Ditto on politics (although I hate discussing politics, so that’s unimportant). None of this is really necessary.

There are legal torrents too. I don’t see why the cops don’t just go after the illegal guys actually doing the file sharing and leave everyone else alone. The trackers are not the ones with the illegal files, nor are they the ones who promote piracy, The Community is the ones to blame.
I get all my linux installer CD’s via bit torrent, plus there is a huge selection of music that is (CC) licensed.
Besides, any idiot knows that the best stuff comes from UseNet anyway, and there is a far better selection of legal software you can get, at breakneck download speeds. And you do not break the law of copyright infringement like filesharers do. You re-distribute nothing.
Torrents are for n00bs who want to get busted imho, or for people who need Linux installer CD’s when the Ubuntu servers are swamped.
I think even the blender.org team uses torrents for distributing the game and movies they made

I dont even know why your here really, just to piss us all off? Maybe you should try spending time working on 3D stuff (the point of this forum) rather than being paranoid and posting offensive threads all the time and abusing the mods that work so hard to support this site. Think of all the personal time they take from their lives to keep this place up and running.
I think the mods here are the most forgiving and lenient mods I’ve seen on any forum anywhere else on the internet. Almost to a fault. Jack, in just about any other forum I’ve ever been to, you’d have been banned ages ago. Same goes for a lot of other people, and probably myself included. I know for a while I was acting way out of character. I’ve since tried to tone it down a lot.
Bottom line: This is a private forum, and the people who run and moderate it can remove, lock or ban whatever and whomever they want.
