I got round to finishing my version of the glass. It is a little different (straight sides and shorter)
After not liking cycles shadow caustics option I decided to brute force:
no shadow caustics, filter glossy 0, clamp indirect 0 40000sample (yes 40,000) 40min on my 3060.
I was very pleased to see these angel rays come out!
