Hi there!
After a lot of trial and error, I’ve come up with a quick template for a third-person adventure game. In this template, I use the mouselook script from tutorialsforblender3d.com* (the 2.55 version that has since disappeared, oddly) with a slight, however messy, edit for locking Z rotation. It’s very basic to set up and use, so I’m putting this up for beginners.
Use it for whatever you wish!
Controls:
WASD = Move
Mouse = Look around
Try looking in another direction, then moving!

Note: In order to use a character, make the armature object a child of the box, then set the physics type of the armature and the mesh to “no collision”. Then, set the bounding box to “invisible”.
