Thor FX; lightning in blender!!!

we all know that blander lacks a few things, but one in specific:
the option to make lightning…

now, i know that openGL features an effect called ThorFX, for realtime lightning.
GLscene openGL demo’s in delphi and pascal i believe :-?

since blender runs under openGL, maybe could someone make a script to use this function?
that would be great :D!
