I believe I have a CNR slot, but it was for a usb or sound connection, how you know it’s a hard modem ? And how easy is it to install ? I did found a serial 56k fax modems by ZOOM for 64 usd, which is a good price I must say for a serial modem. But any serial modem that I see out there below 50 are often out of stock, they must be selling like hotcakes if you ask me.
i don’t think CNR slots work the same way as PCI which is a direct link to the CPU basicly. i think that CNR slots needed to be hardware driven.
i may be wrong as i don’t have one.
USB and sound in a CNR slot, i seriously doubt it LOL
CNR has been kept around for modern server class machines for use with specialised cards such as robotic controlers and things, but in desktop PC’s CNR slots went the way of the dinosaur (but you computer still ahs one :D)
try do a google search on CNR slots and find out
