Of course, totally rendered in Blender.

I think yours is definitely one of the better entries.

Still need more work, in my opinion.

What are you talking about Al Capone. When you make comments like that back them up with some idea of what it is that you think can use more work. Personally I think it is a great picture.

Env. Wonderful picture. Good luck in the contest. I like the way parts of the dinosaur seem to be coming through some kind of force field. Excellent scene.
Paradox

you did make the dinosaur, right? cos that looks pretty cool.

You might want to put a little more texture into the floor and walls, else itā€™s all good.

WoW :o

I just love the sunshine on the dinoā€™s back, incredible!

Hey, tank you all for feedback. (Paradox, thanks for your comment  ).
Al Capone, could you be more specific about what part still need more work?

Env

Thats a pretty nice pic, cool concept and well done!!! Good luck on the contest!!!

Blend on, and blend well!!!

Nice job! I really like this render. Lighting is great.

My only crit is that the texture on the head of the dinosaur looks to be too big in scale, IMO. I think the scales should be smaller on the head and gradualy get larger doen towards the mid section.

Other than that, this rocks!

Aha! You noticedā€¦ it is true, but due to the deadline for the entry I couldnā€™t work more on the new textures (Iā€™m redoing the textures for the Allosaurus animation, less squared this time).

Env

Great concept and carried out smartly!
only crit is that the wall with the time portal seems lacking in detail. maybe just some exposed wires bolted to the wall connecting all the ā€œWARNINGā€ displays or something like that.
the floor also seems too neat, given the mess in some places.
are the city and forest actually modelled or textures?

Textures.
Yes, your adds would improve really the picture. Thanks all for the suggestions.
Okey, because I wanna make a poster of this, Iā€™m going to work on it again.

Env

agreedā€¦ texture rehaulā€¦ then a thumbs up

On the one hand I like your downtown background (is it a model or a pic?), and itā€™s good at suggesting the present time. But I also donā€™t think that it melts in your picture well enough. My problem is the windows opening up. It make me think of a basement view of the world (or even as if you were under the street). Your lab is plenty cool, timely enough (you hit at nowdays technology everywhere), so I would not worry about the downtown unless you modelled it , in which case, I would DEFINITELY keep it. Then I would try to think of a different kind of a window (easier said, right??).
My two cents.

Did I say I think itā€™s excellent?

Cheers

Well, this is interesting. Actually, I added the city view very late in the making, because at a certain point I realized I had the need to make well undestandable that the time window was in the wall of a lab in a city, and not, for example, in the wall of a time spaceship (it could have been, havenā€™t it?). So I did the joke of the two landscapes (and two light conditions).
After all, there were probably not need for this, because as you said the lab is quite enough recognizable anyway, but the joke liked me so much that I kept it.

Then I would try to think of a different kind of a window (easier said, right??).

Me too tought of a different kind of window, but at least with the little time I had to work on the image that was the only kind of some utility without have to remade all.

Did I say I think itā€™s excellent?

Thanks.
