i try to play with the time ipo, but i don’t manage to do what i want to do. My problem is the following.
I got a object with a material. This material has an IPO for the texture offset (for example).
Now if i add an time ipo on the object, i should animate the texture offset.
But it doesn’t work. Blender seems to ignore the time ipo, and act only conforming to the texture offset IPO.
Anyone has an idea, if this is a bug, a something i didn’t understand about time IPO?
I’m not certain, but my guess is that the time IPO-curve only has influence on other IPO-curves of the object-type. Since the texture-offset IPO-curve is of the material-type the time-curve doesn’t influence it.
But like I said, I’m really not certain on this. So hopefully one of the persons who really knows blender will answer your question.
Blender allows you to map the texture to an object.
Why not use the offset ipo curve to control the movement of an Empty and then enter this Empty name in the Map Input panel.
Then copy your time ipo to the Empty.
(How easy this will be will depend alot on how complex an animation setup you have set for the object being animated with the texture).
