time stretch movie clips in sequencer

hi

anybody knows if it is possible in blender to time stretch movie clips?

i made a product animation and it is a bit to fast.
i cannot change all ipos again because ti would require a lot of work.

or is there a global ipo time stretch function in blender?

claas

maybe:

  1. calculate the stretching ratio

  2. press F10, check “Anim/playback buttons” and use “Map Old” and “Map New” input.

  3. rerender …

for stretch, Map New value should be larger than Map Old (if Map Old left at 100, you can use percentiles); start and end frames should be set accordingly.

(that’s what I did in days of flash MX and product presentations - rendered as png/apha sequences)
what I remember is that some things weren’t as “locked in” as non-stretched original, but that could be well taken care of now - it’s a couple of years development …

ops i never looked at that window!

i will try it out!

thanks for the tip!

no way. way? 10 years and still learning…

Yeah this moved in one of ui refactoring, forgot when exactly. It used to be (in 2.2. and I think very early 2.3. blenders) right in F7 menu, you couldn’t miss it … Now it requires some mental effort to find it (i.e. it’s not where you’d want it when you need it). How does stretch work now? Any funny looking movement?

could not get it to work for me. shot some footage at 2 fps. Set up to render out at 10 fps, and tried 100 - 500, 20-100, 100-20, 500-100, no luck. the resulting video played at 10fps, but there was no stretching or compressing. VirtualDub works, and syncs audio as well.
