Tip: Key binding for altering properties

There’s no need to write your own add-on/operator if all you want to do is alter a single property from a key press - Blender provides operators that can do this for you.

As an example, this is how you set up a key binding to switch to a specifically named view layer:

Hi, thanks for the help, that works nicely! Parallel to my bug report I also asked this question here: Shortcut to set a view layer, or cycle through them?

Do you maybe know how to make a shortcut to cycle to the next/previous view layer in the list?

Sorry, no.
