To Scale

(This is related to 3D graphics but I wasn’t sure where else to put it!)

I’ve always been confused about what’s good for a standard scale in computer units. Opening other people’s files of characters especially sometimes they can be really small or really huge. What’s a good rule of thumb for deciding what basic units are? cm? meters? What scales do you use in your scenes?

i rarely do precision modeling with blender, but i would probably use 1 meter = 1 BU

if you’re asking about characters, there is no rule of thumb, because scale is always relative to what you are comparing it with… if you have a house the size of the character’s arm, you’d just scale the house up or the character down…

hope that helps

go by how the camera is set and click front view and don’t move it from there that’s standard.
