Thanks. Blender is not capable of porting to mobile yet. Luckily the game mechanics and code is very easy and short, so I can just remake it in Unity some day using directly level .blend files.(it should take about a week or less) The only problem would be that Unity can not make “soft body” physics out of the box, like Blender can. So I’ll need some complicated code and setup just for the jelly ball.
He guys, I’ve just released “Tomato Jones” on Steam greenlight
You could give a vote up if you like it.
And here is the new trailer:
Nice style, it looks like a great game so far. I hope you can get this on Steam
Haha, thanks Blue!
Voted yes, congratulations, and speedy work!
Thank you 3dmedieval!
I’m not sure if shape keys can be exported and played in other engines but if they can be you could just bake the collapsed potato and turn it into a shape key.
I actually like the fact that you are focusing on small yet different/original games
,I like krum but this is pretty nice too,you plan on giving the levels different atmospheres and unique elements/traps apart from the spikes and huge blades?
(Some ideas :example of other traps might be fire ,huge rolling ball chasing player ,arrows which are being shot near the cave mining rail so you control the rail in order to stop and hide under the broken crates to avoid getting hit by the arrows etc…)
As for the level overall do you plan on experimenting with lights and background ?,for example if its in a cave you make the level darker from the cave cracks light source lights up sections of the level etc…
Anyway its looking good and good luck on steam people comments seems that they are really interested in playing the game to have fun .
Hey Dreamless-Reaper,
I’m just experimenting with this game. If steam community approves the idea and the game performs well on steam, I will add much more new levels and different traps. It’s just…I don’t think putting alot of features and art assets in this game is a good thing. Important is the idea and gameplay, if it performs well I’ll expand the game with many new things.
Now Steam is overflowed with games and putting lots of time and efforts in a small game before its release is a luxury only AAA devs can afford.
P.S. Thanks to Krums modules and systems, now I can make a game like Tomato Jones in just a few months(mainly because of the art), but do not make a mistake…the game uses tons of scripts and setups…It wouldn’t be possible if I hadn’t Krum on my disposal.
Your works are fantastic and it’s very motivating to see someone making games like yours with the BGE. Thank you !
Wow!! Congratulations!!
Congradulations! Good luck with the project’s Steam part.
By the way - will there be a Linux version?
And the Krum is also needed under Linux! ![]()
Nice work. It looks like a great game!
That’s true for sure.
Thank you! When I have some spare time, probably in the summer I’ll try to port the games to Linux.
@@Nudiventra Are you planning to release Engine Roar on Steam?
I hope so, we need more games on Steam. It is a very good way to generate tons of attention to the engine.
Hey, I remember Up-voting this a few weeks ago. Had no idea it was a Blender game, TERRIFIC JOB! And good luck on the storefront
Hah really?! Thank you mate!
