Is there any way to make vertex points in edit mode bigger? Now they are 1 pixel size and its hard to see them. On windows vertexes are 2x2 pixels.
System is RedHat 9, Ati 9000pro and Blender 2.27
I know of a few people who have had this infamous problem with ATI cards using Blender.
Have you tried updating your video card driver to see if this fixes it. It worked for me.
I wanted to start a new topic about this, but since this will have been discussed several times and it actually is:
I installed Blender on many machines, and it didn´t run well on only 3 machines. They all had ATI cards.
Machine 1: Extremely slow in the interface, no icons drawn, some 8MB card
Machine 2: Errors in the interface, some mobile Radeon 16MB
Machine 3: Darn slow menus, flickering cursor and really sticky everything, unknown ATI card.
Question 1: Are there still problems with newer ATI cards?
Question 2: Is there some solution? Installing new drivers sometimes made it even worse…
the vertex points can be made bigger as an opengl hack (little idea how) or by changing the code
Why don’t you submit it as a feature request on blender.org
(the line width can also easily be changed)
I’m using an Gigabyte Radeon 8500 LE and it works just fine. The dots are a fantastic size. I agree about submitting it as a feature request. You can resize the camera and what not, so why not be able to make lines thicker and vertices larger? Anyhow…no problems here but my card is only a bit more than a year old. Those cards are way underpowered for 3D work anyway. As much as that stinks.
