Toon Rendered Mini-Disc

I dug up a model i made about 2 months ago, which is my first work, and slapped on some toon shaders and then rendered it toon style. Or cell rendered whatever you prefer to say. Anyway i need to know how to get all the lines equal. I either have thick edge lines and tiny interenal lines, or massive lines everywhere. C & C on the cel sading required. Please dont comment on the model, im just interested in improving my toon rendering.

i don’t know about the new blender toon features much so i cna’t comment on the rest.

cool! but press setsmooth on all of the buttons that it shows the whole wire. good job!

Hmmmmmmmmm…there’s something very weird and bad about your link because its trying to submit a security certificate, which is one way I believe viruses are passed along. Please either fix the link so that doesn’t happen or figure out why its happening, but I won’t load the image without that being gone. Thanks.

Yeah i get that annoying certificate thing too. But im on my mac, so i dont pheer virii.

It seems to me turning on set smooth on those buttons and other parts of the image will remove most of the internal lines.

thats a neat rendering, howd you do that?

That’s another nice example of how diverce Blender is. You can use a variety of techniques now to achieve your goals, be it Toon Shading,Radiosity, G.I. (although through lighting setup tricks), Phong, Blinn, HDRI, etc. etc. It will become more and more difficult to make a choice what to use. First was radiosity the buzz. Now it’s toon shading. So you see, it doesn’t always be photorealistic, only cool. I love the toon shading.

By the way, I’m looking into SSS. If I have the time I will try to implement a fast Subsurface Light Scattering routine in source.

It’s because the link is to the https version. It SSL encrypts the traffic between browser & webserver. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.

I like the pic. Are the wireframes on the buttons deliberate?

SOrry guys i didnt notice the https:// i think i have fized it now, its no virus just on my school server and it uses all these security certificates. The wireframe on the buttons wasnt intentional but i forgot to save after i rendered this and noticed so when i get around to digging out these backup files i have heard of then i will try and fix it.

Did I see Cardiff in the URL?

I went to college in Cardiff

great shading

can we see it setsmoothed?
