I´m a blender newbie. Since a few weeks I`m trying to learn and get better in blender.
In July I decided to start a little project, that keeps me motivated enough to learn new things without the need finding new ideas everyday. So I took some old 2D concepts of mine with little toylike monowheelers, which can attack in several different ways. In a bigger vision they are part of a fictional Brawler game, where players can choose between different more special Brawlers and play against all kind of stationary or moving Enemies.
Here are some of my first 3D renders and progress shots.
To keep it more simple at the beginning, I started with the cubic enmy-type brawlers. Little Monowheel Cubes with different defence and attack-abilities.
Please let me know what you think!! I´m open for critics and ideas!
Each day I only have approx. 1 hour or so. Progress will be slow and NOT everything will be figured to percetion. At the moment it´s just planned to create still action images of each Brawler. However…
Stay tuned for all new progress shots and the more special Brawlerz!!!
huge thanks for your comment! I´m gald you like them. Yeah, a fun colorful brawlergame would be cool for them.
The colors or materials are basically achieved by just using the principled shader. Roughness slider a bit to more shinyness and a subtle use of subsurface. On the metal and transparent parts I exaggerated the fresnel by using fresnel with emmission to get a brighter edge. Some of the modelling parts support that look as well, I think.
I hope that helps a bit. If you have more questions, please let me know
@yakuzakazuya Hey, huge thanks for stoping by and your comment. I´m glad you like them!!
@dogdayfear Thanks a bunch!! On twitter some people thought about 3dprints as well. Not sure, if my 3dmodels would ensure the needs for 3dprints. I only quickly modelled everything, so it just looks good for still images. But would be awesome to see them printed
