Well…I sent my train station pic to the art festival and bart asked me to make an anim out of it…so I made it. Not very special, just a few camera movement around the train arriving to the station and stopping. If anyone want to download it and give me it’s critic comments.
rendering without mblur was taking 1min40 per frame…with osa5…I had to blur it a bit in virtualdub to make it “look” good…it was really really long to render…so
anyway tx for the comment
but habitually, I always use mblur…this scene is just too big
camera movement:
it stops on the right side, train goes by.
then it’s in front of the train, pans a bit to the right. so, there’s another “train comes towards camera”
and then it swaps again to the right side.
there is something weird about this.
perhaps, you should cut the panning of the later camera…
or… when it stops to wait train to go by, instead of stopping, it would continue towards end of the train? this would also make train appear more speedy, and this brings to us to my second crit…
crit number 2:
speed.
train looks fast, but doesnt travel fast, it comes in very slowly. especially when camera stops to wait it pass by… is this intentional?
I think the speed thing is very important. I really would like to see the train move faster. The only other camera tweak I’d suggest would be adding a little bounce as it goes down the stairs into the train, to get a better POV feeling.
for the speed:
Well, I wanted it too looks like it was slowing down, because it’s coming to the station so. But yea I think it could be faster.
For the camera movement, I wanted to make it better in the first shot, but I kinda didn’t have enough time. I’ll maybe try to adjust it tonight…I’ll see if I’m too busy or not.
and btw, I won’t change the blue feeling of it…I love it like that. I’m sorry if some don’t but this pic is really coming ‘‘from me’’… and basse: texturing it? LOL no way I can do that and I don’t have time for now…maybe later, we never know
