Transfer Hair?

Ello there. I spent quite a bit of time molding my character’s hair to my liking. Then like a dummy, I decided I wanted to copy the emitter mesh and drastically alter the topology without researching the effect on the hair. I have learned the hard way here that I can’t simply disconnect the hair and stick it on the new mesh.

I have reserved myself to the fact that I will need to at least repaint the the weights used for the hair density.
I’d like to know, however, if there is at least a way to convert the parent hairs (right in image) into meshes or curves, and then convert them back into parent hairs on the new mesh.

I’m open to any ideas that will lead to the least amount of rework. And simply hiding the original emitter mesh doesn’t work for me because I don’t want to rig and animate two heads with very different topology. Thanks! :slight_smile:
