Trasprent Text

Hi all,
Im cant understand how this artist made trasparet text to an object, is this possible in blender ?

Thanks Sior

Sorry for my eglish

Of course it is possible. It is easy and hard, both at the same time.

The easy part: You create the object in which you want to make the holes. (The name tag.) You add a text, you position it and you make it thick enough to go across your name tag. You convert it to mesh. Add a Boolean modifier to the name tag. (Operation: Difference. Object: Text)

At this point, if you hide the text, you will already see the result. Apply the Boolean modifier.

The hard part: With complex objects, the Boolean modifier produces an ugly geometry full of tiny triangles. The result is totally useless until you fix them by hand. That can take a very long time.

I had a lot of fun yesterday while trying to make a scene similar to your picture. There is still a lot of things to fix in my scene but, at least, you can see that it is possible in Blender.

Here is the file. Do whatever you want with it. (I used Cycles.)

Boolean Text.blend (573 KB)

actualy you can make these kinds of things pretty easily if you use 2d curves, make the text and convert it to a curve with alt+c, then add the outline of the tag, then delete the segments where the text is open and connect the two curves together into one how you want it. turn the extrusion up, bevel a bit and add some bevel resolution, and you got this:
