TreeD System Created in Blender

TreeD is a new collection of high-quality tree turntables built specifically for VFX compositing and game engines. The trees were all made and rendered with Blender/Cycles!

The EXR versions come with useful passes (depth, normals, and position) so you can integrate them into your scenes with real control and parallax — no heavy 3D renders required. Just align the frame number with your card’s rotation and the trees naturally follow your camera move.

I created these because I kept wishing for quick, flexible foliage assets that actually behaved like real trees in comp — so I decided to make them myself.
If you’re a compositor, lighting TD, or game environment artist, I’d love for you to give them a try.

Would really appreciate any feedback — whether you grab something or just take a look. Let me know what you think!

are they just one single image tree or a sequence of image to fake the 3d of the tree?

Latter I think it could be useful to show some working example with a rotating camera.

They’re a collection of 360 degree turntables that can be made to fake the rotation of the tree in Compositing software. They also include utility passes to give you the ability to relight, and apply depth of field and other effects to help with integration.

And yes, I agree that having an example like that would be helpful and I’m working on a few “real world” examples to show how they can be used as well.

Yes, I think it’s better to show it with a real world example.

Just wanted to jump back in here to show a quick demo of one of my trees in action.

This tree was placed on a card in Fusion and the rotation was aligned to the camera. This created a very believable result in comp

Another little bump to say that I’m offering the Ash 01 tree, QuickTime version, for free to the first 50 customers to download the asset!
